Mali international Ousmane Berthe is looking to leave Jomo Cosmos to follow in the footsteps of Seydou Keita.
Berthe, 25, has been linked with a move to Hoffenheim and, having spoken to his club chairman Jomo Sono, the defender is ready to make the switch to Europe.
"My agent has told me about teams in Italy, Germany, France and Tunisia," he told KickOff. "My main interest now is to play in Europe and not South Africa next season.
"People only remember and respect you when you play in a big European league. Look at Benni McCarthy - people respect him a lot because he played in Europe. I also want to earn respect like my countryman Seydou Keita has done in Europe with Barcelona.
"I have spoken to Jomo and he is also ready to help me achieve my dream."
He added: "I have enjoyed playing in South Africa. The standard of football in this country is high and I like the passion of the supporters. It's always nice to play in front of Chiefs, Sundowns and Pirates' fans.
"I wouldn't mind coming back to play in South Africa some day."
