Higuain, 24, has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid for some time, and although he recently said he was happy at the club he also hinted at a dissatisfaction with his limited playing time.

Madrid have made clear that they would like to keep him - technical director Miguel Pardeza recently said that "he has a contract in place and we would be delighted if he stayed with us" - but the striker would have no shortage of suitors should he decide to move on.

Juventus and Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move, and Higuain has been in touch with his Argentina team-mate Pastore to enquire about a move to PSG.

"Two weeks ago, he called me to ask me about the club, Ligue 1 and the city of Paris," he said in an interview with L'Equipe. "He told me that he had this opportunity, but that other clubs were interested in him."

Higuain was born in France but left the country at an early age.
