Boca still leading following stalemate

April 24, 2012

Boca Juniors remain top of Argentina's Clausura after a 1-1 draw between Newell's Old Boys and Arsenal Sarandi.

• Boca Juniors slip up

The home side, who would have joined Boca on 21 points with a win, took the lead in the 47th minute through Dario Benedetto.

However, Newell's Old Boys, who started the game just a point behind the leaders, levelled 11 minutes into the second half through Victor Figueroa.

The outcome proved a bullet dodged for Boca, after they could only drew 1-1 at Belgrano Cordoba 24 hours earlier, presenting Newell's Old Boys with the chance to take over that the top.
