Naldo put in a transfer request in the winter and was close to returning to Brazil with Internacional before being convinced to stay in Bremen, and says he cannot guarantee that he would make the same decision in the summer.

"A return to Brazil remains interesting for me,'' he told the Bild newspaper. "My wife is often alone here in Germany with the children. If a good offer is made to Werder, then I could go.''

Naldo may not be the only big-name departure from Bremen in the summer with goalkeeper Tim Wiese and striker Claudio Pizarro both reported to be considering their futures.

Last weekend, Bremen fielded one of their youngest-ever sides for a Bundesliga fixture and, after a year without European football, major investments are no longer possible while the current squad may have to be streamlined.

Offers for the likes of Naldo, Wiese and Pizarro are therefore likely to be listened to, and Naldo does not want to get left behind.

"I have ambitions,'' he said. "If all of the stars leave, then it will be hard to realise them. My agent is coming this week and we are going to have to talk to Werder.''
