Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has called his Belgium team-mate Eden Hazard "incredibly talented" as the Lille forward continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.

The top teams in England are all thought to be keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who hinted at a preference for a move to Manchester United when he said he was "excited" to learn Sir Alex Ferguson had watched him in action.

Hazard played a pivotal role as Lille secured the Ligue 1 title last season - and, while they are nine points off current leaders PSG and not expected to retain their crown, he has still contributed 12 goals and ten assists this term.

He is reportedly set to leave France over the next few months, however, and Kompany suggests Hazard would be welcome at the Etihad Stadium.

Kompany tweeted: "My opinion on Eden Hazard is that he can play in any top team in the world, today or tomorrow, as he is an incredibly gifted player."

City boss Roberto Mancini revealed on Wednesday that Kompany has a chance of returning from injury for this weekend's match at Stoke City.
