Roma reach agreement with Disney

Serie A club Roma have reached a unique agreement to train at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Roma will use the facilities during the Serie A winter break after striking a six-year deal with Walt Disney World.

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is a leading multi-sports venue for amateur athletes in the United States and hosts more than 350 events a year.

Boasting state-of-the-art facilities, including 30 multi-purpose outdoor fields, the likes of NBA side Orlando Magic have trained at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Roma's general manager Franco Baldini said: "The facilities are tremendously impressive. The ability to come here to train at this state-of-the-art complex in good weather during the Serie A winter break will be a big advantage."

Disney sports development manager Patrick Dicks added: "With this extensive relationship with AS Roma, we are excited about the many possibilities we have for creating even more unique world-class football experiences for the athletes, coaches and fans at our sports complex, as well as helping raise AS Roma's profile among American soccer fans.

"AS Roma's deep involvement with us adds greater momentum domestically and internationally for our soccer program which continues to be a leader within American youth soccer."
