Hoarau rescues PSG at the death

A late goal from Guillaume Hoarau ensured that Ligue 1 leaders PSG saved a point in a 2-2 draw with high-flying Montpellier after the capital club had taken the lead.

PSG were ahead in the 41st minute through Alex's powerful drive, but Younes Belhanda headed Montpellier level on the stroke of half-time and John Utaka had the visitors in front with a diving header nine minutes from time.

However, substitute Hoarau stepped up to score a tap-in and make it 2-2 with two minutes left to leave Montpellier trailing by a single point.

Yoan Gouffran's 42nd-minute goal settled Bordeaux's contest with Lyon 1-0 which saw the visitors continue a run of just just one win in their last five matches. .

The 25-year-old's close-range header extended the home side's unbeaten run to five games, while Lyon's best chance was an appeal for a penalty when Jimmy Briand went down under a challenge from Ciani - but nothing was given.

Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris produced an excellent diving save 17 minutes from time to keep out Jaroslav Plasil's long-range effort. However, the home side did not pay for failing to double the lead. They controlled the game in the closing stages, with Lyon failing to create any chances of note.

St Etienne thrashed Rennes 4-0 to move level on points with their opponents in the push for European football.

ASSE leapfrogged Rennes into sixth place, and level with fourth-placed Marseille in the congested table after running riot in the second half.

Jean-Pascal Mignot put them ahead after 25 minutes and after Ludovic Battles doubled the lead eight minutes into the second period, further strikes from Bakary Sako and Max Gradel wrapped up a comfortable win.
