Ivory Coasts will return to the same venue on Sunday seeking their second title after Arsenal forward Gervinho ran from his own half and slotted home.

The Elephants defence then kept their opponents at bay in the second half to ensure their progression to the final for the third time.

Ivory Coast will be joined by Zambia after substitute Emmanuel Mayuka's goal gave them a surprise 1-0 win over Ghana - one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan, whose missed penalty at the 2012 World Cup cost his team a place in the semi-finals, saw his spot kick saved after eighth-minutes at the Estadio de Bata and it was to prove costly once again.

Although the Black Stars dominated the match they struggled to create real chances and Mayuka scored against the run of play in the 78th minute .

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng was sent off six minutes from time after a second yellow card.
