Inter should do their utmost to sign Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas, according to defender Lucio.
Lucas, 19, has been heavily touted as the next big thing in Brazil and has been put in the same bracket as Santos striker Neymar, who is also showing enormous potential.
But Lucio thinks Lucas would be better able to adapt to European football and would settle quicker playing in Serie A.
"He always works hard in training and is a humble lad," Lucio told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"I know Lucas very well and Inter ought to run to sign him straight away. He is a wide attacker with a great deal of quality, all combined with exceptional pace.
"I remember during Copa America training, he'd often face Dani Alves during games between ranks and it was always a fiery battle. I think Lucas is better suited to Italian and European football than Neymar."
Lucio also revealed he is keen to finish his career back in Brazil after he finishes playing for Inter.
"Sooner or later, I want to return to play in Brazil. In fact, I only played [regularly] for a year-and-a-half in my country," he added.
Lucio also touched on his falling out with Louis van Gaal that ended his Bayern Munich career.
"I do not know whether I will choose to live here [Italy], Brazil or Germany [after I retire]. I must say that me and my family had a great time in Germany but then came [Louis] van Gaal," he said.
