Cruz Azul on the move

October 31, 2011

Cruz Azul went third in the Apertura table thanks to an impressive 2-0 win at Tecos.

Enrique Meza's side moved to within three points of leaders Guadalajara thanks to a Christian Giminez penalty and a goal from Emanuel Villa.

Two goals from Luis Garcia helped Puebla beat Club America 3-2 in a thriller at Estadio Azteca. Raul Jiminez gave America a second-minute lead, but Garcia's brace and a goal from Duvier Riascos put Puebla in charge until Vicente Vuoso made for a tense finish.

Elsewhere, Israel Martinez scored as Queretaro won 1-0 at Toluca, while Tijuana drew 0-0 with San Luis.
