Sunderland have announced defender Nyron Nosworthy has joined Championship side Watford on loan.

Nosworthy, 31, has not featured for Sunderland this season and hence has sealed a temporary move to Watford, where he will remain until January.

The centre-back joined the Black Cats from Gillingham in 2005 on a free transfer and has since made over 100 appearances for the Wearside club.

Nosworthy has previously spent time on loan at Sheffield United, where he recorded 32 league appearances for the Blades last season.
