Former Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez has pointed the finger of blame for the club's current struggles firmly at president Massimo Moratti.

Benitez won the Italian Super Cup and Club World Cup during his six month spell, but was sacked after a poor start to the 2010-11 campaign. And, as history repeated itself this season with Gian Piero Gasperini sacked after just three league matches, Inter are currently just one point above the drop zone after five Serie A games.

New boss Claudio Ranieri has taken the helm in a bid to steer Inter back on track, but Benitez insists that as long as Moratti is pulling the strings then they will continue to struggle.

"He [Moratti] makes too many mistakes. After me he has had three coaches [Leonardo, Gasperini and Ranieri], that means the president is making too many errors," Benitez told Sky Sport Italia.

"Inter did not treat me well, they did not recognise my value despite me winning the Italian Super Cup and the Club World Cup. This is something that still pains me."
