France striker Sidney Govou has secured a return to his homeland after agreeing to join Ligue 1 newcomers Evian.

Govou, 31, who won seven league titles during his time at Lyon, endured a tough stint with Greek side Panathinaikos last term, and is confident he can help his new club avoid an expected relegation battle.
He told the club's website: "I want to have fun on the field and to help lead the side. If we can be consistent from the start to the finish of the season then things can be different to what people expect. I am really happy to be here and I was immediately convinced (to join).''
Govou is also looking forward to facing the club with which he made his name.
"Of course I have checked the date of the Lyon matches on the calendar,'' he said.
