Arsenal have seen an offer for Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Douglas Costa rejected, according to the player's agent.

Douglas Costa, 20, signed for Shakhtar from Gremio on a five-year deal in January 2010, but he has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League.

His agent, Cesar Bottega, has now claimed that Arsenal offered Denilson in a part-exchange deal but Shakhtar were not interested in the midfielder and the bid was rejected.

"The Gunners have offered the club Denilson in exchange for Douglas but Shakhtar said no," he told Calciomercato.com. "They are not interested in Denilson and would want only money."
