St Etienne president Roland Romeyer claims that only a bid of €15 million will prise in-demand midfielder Blaise Matuidi away from the club.
Matuidi, 24, has been strongly linked with a move to both Arsenal and Liverpool after being revealed as the best tackler in Ligue 1 and has previously stated his desire to test himself at the highest level by playing in the Champions League.
However, the French side have set a high price for the French international. "The right fee is €15 million (£13.2m).'' Romeyer told The Progress. ''We will not discuss anything lower."
Romeyer also hit out at Ligue 1 rivals Paris St Germain following allegations that the club approached Matuidi about a move before speaking with St Etienne first.
"The rule is that you contact the club to which he belongs before the player himself. Paris does things backwards," he added.
