Brazil: Corinthians held by Flamengo
Corinthians have soared to the top of the fledgling Campeonato Brasileiro table being held by fellow powerhouse Flamengo.
The Sao Paulo giants drew 1-1 with Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro after William's opening goal was cancelled out by Renato before half-time. The point took Corinthians ahead of Palmeiras with two wins and a draw, though Atletico Mineiro and Sao Paulo have both only played two and won both.
Coritiba inflicted a 5-1 hammering against Vasco da Gama as Anderson Aquino scored a 10-minute hat-trick with goals in the ninth, 14th and 19th minutes.
Gremio overcame Bahia at home thanks to Junior Vicoa's first-half brace.
Internacional won 4-2 away to America in a game which saw them 3-0 up after 23 minutes to earn a comfortable three points while Borges netted twice as Santos beat Avai 3-1 at home.
