Arsene Wenger has revealed there has been no contact with Barcelona over Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

• Nasri contract talks stall
• Evra: Nasri should join United
• Arshavin: Wenger wants me to stay
• Wilshere: Let's harass refs
Barca made a concerted effort to land Fabregas last summer, but the Gunners were able to persuade their captain to remain at the Emirates.
It proved to be a season of frustration for Fabregas, as he faced a battle with niggling injuries and saw Arsenal go another campaign without silverware while Barca were crowned Spanish and European champions.
With Barca so dominant both domestically and in Europe, they may opt not to bid for Fabregas this summer and such a scenario would delight Wenger, who has built his team around "the best midfielder in the world".
"There was an interest from Barcelona last year which I won't hide," Gunners boss Wenger said of Barca's courtship of Fabregas. "This year there hasn't been an interest.
"My No. 1 wish is to keep Fabregas - for me he is the best midfielder in the world and we naturally built the team around him."
