Former England captain David Beckham could be tempted into coaching the Great Britain football team at London 2012.

Beckham previously stated he would be keen on a playing role at the Games - despite the fact he will be 37 by the time the showpiece event rolls into London.

The midfielder, whose contract at LA Galaxy expires at the end of the MLS season, is targeting three more years before hanging up his boots - but he is willing to assume a non-playing role with the Great Britain side, which is expected to have only English players eligible for selection.

"So far I've heard I'm going to be managing, coaching, playing, so we'll see - but I would like to be part of it in some way," Beckham told Sky Sports. "I'd love be a player in it, of course, but to be just part of that team would be pretty incredible. For a football team to go into the Olympics in England is a huge thing."

Beckham has made 115 appearances for England, the last of which came against Belarus in October 2009.
