Barcelona legend Andoni Zubizarreta is expecting a close but entertaining game when his former side meets Shakhtar Donetsk in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The two sides last met in the European Super Cup in Monaco in 2009, a game Barcelona won 1-0 thanks to an extra time goal by Pedro - and Zubizaretta is expecting another close game.

"Shakhtar are a really solid team," said the former Spain goalkeeper. "We know them very well and they've had their successes against us in the past. It's never been an easy gamer against Shakhtar. But we've developed a lot since we last played them. We are confident are but they are a tough team to play.

"It should be a well balanced game. They are well coached and play very dynamic and quick football. It should be a very entertaining game for the neutral.

While Zubizaretta is taking nothing for granted, he couldn't help but dream of a possible Clasico semi-final against Real Madrid.

"We are trying to build a great and historic team at Barcelona but between now and the end of the season we need to play at the best of our abilities to achieve what we believe is possible. Playing Real Madrid in a semi-final would be an incredible occasion but it may not be Real Madrid."

Assessing his side's prospects, Guardiola refused to take the Ukrainians lightly.

"We know Shakhtar and they know us. We've had some very tight games against them," he said. "They are a physically very strong team with experienced players. A little while ago they won the Europa League and we had it tough to beat them in the UEFA Super Cup (in 2009).

"They've had an excellent Champions League and have only lost to Arsenal. We will have to have two very good games to beat them. Playing the return leg there is a handicap but that's how the draw is."
