Renato Silva put the hosts in front after 22 minutes of the Group G contest when he stabbed home from close range before Wang Yongpo added the second ten minutes later after Han Peng sent him clear and he slotted home.

Cerezo keeper Kim jin-hyun saved Obina's penalty in the second half and Cui Peng was sent off for two bookable offences towards the end but the hosts held on.

The group's other game saw Jeonbuk Motors score three times in the final 14 minutes to overcome Arema Malang 4-0 at Kanjuruhan Stadium.

Kim Jee-wong volleyed the visitors in front after 25 minutes but they had to wait until the 76th minute to extend their lead when Huang Bowen was on hand to convert. Luiz Henrique then helped himself to two late goals, the first a smart finish from a tight angle and the second a forceful solo run.

Ha Tae-gyun's hat-trick helped Suwon Bluewings to a 4-0 thumping of Shanghai Shenhua in Group H.

Ha used his strength to hold off Jiajun Chung and open the scoring after three minutes at Suwon World Cup Stadium before Oh Jang-eun took advantage of a poor clearance to double the lead three minutes before the break.

Ha clipped a neat finish past keeper Wang Da Lei for his second and Suwon's third after an hour before completing his treble from close range with quarter of an hour to go.
