Substitute Julian Draxler's goal with a minute left in extra time secured Schalke a place in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Nurnberg.

The Royal Blues twice battled from a goal down in normal time, Mario Gavranovic cancelling out Julian Schieber's fourth-minute opener on the quarter-hour mark and Ivan Rakitic again restoring parity 13 minutes into the second half after Schieber had put the visitors ahead for a second time after 32 minutes.
The game went to extra time and Schalke coach Felix Magath, seeking a win over his former club, provided what proved the masterstroke by bringing on Draxler for Peer Kluge in the 116th minute.
Draxler took only three minutes to net the decisive goal and Nurnberg had no time to respond.
The remaining three quarter-finals take place tomorrow and all involve sides from the Bundesliga 2 hosting top-flight opposition. Bayern Munich visit Alemannia Aachen, Hoffenheim travel to Energie Cottbus and Duisburg host Kaiserslautern.
