Ronaldinho has been heavily linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers, but it now looks like the two-time World Player of the Year will return to his homeland.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Tuesday night that the 30-year-old's brother and agent Roberto de Assis has agreed a deal which will see Ronaldinho return to the club he left in 2001.

Gazzetta also claim the deal could be completed within hours, ending any hopes Blackburn have of signing the former Barcelona star.

Blackburn manager Steve Kean said on Tuesday:"I don't know how likely it is to happen but over the last 24 hours it's become less likely than likely. I'm hearing he may want to go back to Brazil, but I don't know if anybody can afford him there."
