How Will They Line Up: Man City vs Chelsea
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes veteran defender John Terry is currently the best centre-back in England.
Terry, 33, has started 23 Premier League matches this season, helping Chelsea to third in the table.
The defender is set to line up in the heart of the Blues' defence on Monday night when they travel to Manchester City, and Mourinho has talked up his form ahead of the match.
Of Terry, whose contract expires in the summer, Mourinho said in The Sun: "I was not expecting him to be the best centre-half in England. Not after the season he had last year. I was not expecting it."
Terry retired from international football in 2012 but his performances this season have led to talk of a shock recall by England manager Roy Hodgson for the 2014 World Cup.
Mourinho said: "I would like to see him playing this way until the end of the season. People talk about England and the World Cup is between him and Roy, not with me."
The Portuguese added that he intends to deploy attacking tactics at City on Monday evening, despite the home side's devastating form at the Etihad Stadium this season.
He told the Mirror: "I don’t know if other teams have been scared of City, whether it’s not so much that they don’t attack them -- and more that they can’t.
"Maybe they can’t. I want to attack them. I can tell you that. But after 10 minutes, people might say I’m not attacking. If I don't, it’s because I can't."
