Lewis Holtby is on his way out of Tottenham, according to the player’s agent.

Holtby, 23, arrived at White Hart Lane from Schalke last January, but has struggled to make a real impact in North London.

The Germany international has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund and Schalke having both been credited with an interest, while a move to Fulham could also be on the cards.

“My feeling is he will leave but it’s not in our hands at the moment,’ agent Marcus Noack said in the Metro.

“Tottenham have to agree to let him go first. We hope to find a solution in the next couple of days.”

Spurs signed Holtby for just 1.25 million pounds last year as his contract with Schalke was due to expire that summer.

Yet with the North London club asking for around 10 million pounds to let the midfielder go, Noack feels a permanent move may have to wait until the end of the season.

“I think it will be a loan because it is difficult for anyone to buy Lewis,” he added.

Fulham could well be the most likely option for Holtby, with Spurs reportedly keen on a swap deal that would see former Tottenham man Dimitar Berbatov moving the other way.
