England to play friendlies in Miami
ESPN FC Extra: Defoe a no go?
LONDON -- England will prepare for the World Cup with friendly matches in Miami against Ecuador and Honduras in June.
The Football Association says the friendlies will be at the Miami Dolphins Stadium.
England will play Ecuador on June 4 and Honduras on June 7 before flying to their World Cup base in Rio de Janeiro.
The final match for Roy Hodgson's team in England before the tournament will be against Peru on May 30 at Wembley Stadium, and will also host Denmark in a friendly at the same ground on March 5.
Hodgson told the FA's website: "I'm delighted with the games we have been able to secure and the programme running up to the World Cup in general.
"I was clear to those responsible at The FA that I was looking for Central and South American opposition ahead of the tournament and that is exactly what has been delivered.
"In our training camps here and abroad, I hope to foster the spirit and work ethic that we are going to need out in Brazil.
"It is a tournament I want us to enjoy, but to do that we must work hard and play well."
England will open their Group D campaign against Italy in Manaus on June 14, before facing South American champions Uruguay five days alter and Costa Rica on June 24.
