Matri poised for Fiorentina switch
Alessandro Matri is to complete a move from AC Milan to Fiorentina on Wednesday, pending the successful completion of a medical.
The 29-year-old "said his goodbyes, hugging one by one the Rossonero staff and all of his teammates" at the Milanello training ground on Tuesday, according to an announcement on AC Milan's official website.
He is set to undergo a medical in Florence on Wednesday before completing a transfer to the Viola, who have found in the former Cagliari and Juventus forward the man they were looking for to stand in for the injured Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez.
Details of the transfer have yet to be confirmed, but Matri appears likely to sign a permanent contract with Fiorentina, who become his fourth club in Serie A.
The Italian striker scored a total of 31 goals for Juventus before moving to Milan in the summer. He made only 15 appearances under former AC coach Massimiliano Allegri, who also worked with him at Cagliari, scoring one goal -- which came in the 3-2 defeat to Parma.
