Liverpool defender Daniel Agger will be assessed by Anfield medical staff to determine the extent of the calf injury suffered in the FA Cup win over Oldham Athletic.

Daniel Agger has started just five games this season.

Agger limped off with around 10 minutes of Sunday’s 2-0 victory at Anfield remaining, and Liverpool's official website said scans showed he had suffered a calf strain.

Days earlier, the central defender had scored his first goal of the season as Hull were beaten 2-0 at Anfield on New Year’s Day.

He said: "For a defender, a clean sheet is important. It wasn't our best performance, but if we can win and get three points without playing at our best, that's important -- especially in the long run."

Agger, who joined Liverpool from Danish club Brondby in 2006, captained Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in that victory.
