Bosnia coach misses flight to Brazil
ESPN FC: What to expect from the draw?
Bosnia and Herzegovina coach Safet Susic missed his flight to the 2014 World Cup draw, according to reports in kicker.
Eighteen years after playing their first international match the country qualified for their first major tournament by beating Lithuania 1-0 in October.
And they will be the only country making their World Cup debut in Brazil, but when the draw is made in Costa do Sauipe on Friday afternoon, Susic will not be present due to problems getting to the airport.
“I started my journey early enough, but there were some problems with the traffic,” the 58-year-old is quoted as saying. “When I got to the airport 30 minutes before take-off, the airport employees did not accept my explanation.
“In the 40 years of my career I have only missed two or three flights. I am sorry that I will not be able to meet my colleagues.”
It is reported that Darko Ljubojevic, the vice president of the Bosnian Football Association, will be present in Susic’s absence.
