Robin van Persie has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad ahead of friendlies against Japan and Colombia due to injury.
Van Persie played 85 minutes of Manchester United’s 1-0 Premier League win against Arsenal but didn’t start the goalless Champions League draw against Real Sociedad six days earlier due to toe and groin injuries.
The Dutch Football Association confirmed the news on Tuesday morning, adding that Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie had also pulled out after suffering a bruised foot.
Norwich's Leroy Fer and Vitesse Arnhem's Davy Propper called up as the pair's replacements.
The call-up is Propper’s first in the senior squad and is reward for the impressive form for Eredivisie leaders Vitesse.
On Monday, Holland coach Louis van Gaal replaced the injured Dirk Kuyt with Ajax forward Siem de Jong.
Holland qualified for the World Cup finals having won nine and drawn one of their 10 Group D games.
