Major League Soccer on Wednesday did not issue any sanctions against Seattle Sounders’ Clint Dempsey for an altercation with FC Dallas’ Jackson during their match Saturday.

Jackson fouled Dempsey with a tackle from behind in the 13th minute, but Dempsey was then seen kicking Jackson while he was on the ground. FC Dallas beat Seattle, 2-0.

It's possible that the league's disciplinary committee could choose to suspend Dempsey later this week, said MLS media official Susan Marshall, but as it stands now, the U.S. international is available to play in Sunday's season finale against the L.A. Galaxy.

Seattle (15-12-6) has lost four straight. The Sounders also are on a six-game winless streak in which they have failed to score more than one goal in a game.Clint Dempsey came close to scoring in the 80th minute, but pulled a free kick just wide left of the net.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
