Hernandez has only made one Premier League start since Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson as manager, prompting suggestions he could leave Old Trafford.

However, Moyes is adamant that the Mexico international, who has scored 51 goals since his arrival in 2010, will get enough minutes on the pitch this season.

He said: “It is not a question for now. He will play a lot of games before the end of the season.”

Moyes also believes Tom Cleverley could make a quicker-than-expected return from a calf injury to face Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The England midfielder has not played since the 2-1 win over Sunderland on Oct. 5 but Moyes is hopeful that he and Danny Welbeck, who is also a doubt, could feature.

He added: “Danny Welbeck had a little bit of an injury from the game so we will have to check that. Tom Cleverley is not as bad as we thought. They have got a chance.”

Moyes is waiting to see whether veteran centre-backs Rio Ferdinand, who has a pelvic problem, and Nemanja Vidic, who has a shin injury, will be fit.

He said: “We have got one or two knocks or niggles. Vida and Rio are making good progress.”

Adnan Januzaj, who was ineligible for United’s first two Champions League games, is now able to make his debut in the competition.

“He is now available,” Moyes said. “He is an exceptional talent. He is someone who is going to play a big part in the future of Manchester United.”
