Liverpool forward Iago Aspas faces six weeks out after tearing a thigh muscle in training, the club have confirmed.
Aspas suffered the injury on Thursday, with a scan revealing the extent of the damage on Friday.
The 26-year-old, signed from Celta Vigo for £7.7 million in June, is expected to be available by the beginning of December, Liverpool’s official website said.
Aspas has struggled to make an impact since his arrival at Anfield, having failed to score in six appearances so far.

Last week, he said he was finding life difficult at Liverpool, voicing his frustration at being demoted to the substitutes’ bench after beginning the campaign in the starting line-up.
