And the 19-year-old admitted he is also targeting a spot in the Brazil squad for next year’s World Cup.
Marquinhos has made strong start to life in the French capital, scoring three goals since he made his summer switch from Roma.
However, the former under-17 Brazil international said he has no intentions of slowing his development.
"I have not earned the respect of the club by accident," he told reporters. "I fought for it and seized the opportunity.
"Nothing will prevent me from progressing over time."
Marquinhos also believes that any improvement under PSG coach Laurent Blanc could help him press a claim for spot in Brazil boss Felipe Luiz Scolari’s World Cup squad.
"Why not? I have to believe in me and my dream, I have to think I can do it," he added.
"I will work for it, and I will work hard to retain the attention of the staff of the Selecao."
