Substitute Tomi Juric scored a late equaliser as Western Sydney Wanderers drew 1-1 against Central Coast Mariners in the A-League on Saturday.
Mitchell Duke opened the scoring for the Mariners in the 55th minute and they looked on course for victory until Juric claimed a point for his side in the 87th minute.
"I thought we probably deserved a bit more, but we didn't score when we were dominating in the first half," Wanderers coach Tony Popovic said."When you get those opportunities you've got to put them away.
"The character they showed after we conceded was excellent."Even after the (equalising) goal, I felt our team was trying to win the game the last few minutes."
In the other game, Melbourne Victory drew 0-0 against Melbourne Heart in a Victorian derby.
The game saw a record crowd of over 45,000, but the match failed to ignite as the sides settled for a point apiece.
"We just could have been a little bit more aggressive in that forward third," Victory coach Ange Postecoglou said. "We just played it a little bit safe."
