Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has found a way to be reminded on a daily basis about saving a penalty from Mario Balotelli.

Napoli keeper Pepe Reina saves a penalty by AC Milan's Mario Balotelli.
APReina has conceded just four Serie A goals since joining Napoli on loan last summer.

The Spain international became the first to deny the AC Milan and Italy forward from the spot last month, helping to earn his side a significant 2-1 win at the San Siro. And as a memento, he has Balotelli’s shirt from that game.

To keep the memory so vivid, he admits he is currently sleeping in Balotelli’s shirt while on international duty with Spain.

“I couldn’t not ask for his shirt after saving a penalty from him,” Reina told Radio Onda Cero. “It was an historical event. He gave it to me and I’ve got it here with me now. I’m wearing a unique set of pyjamas -- I’m sleeping with Balotelli’s shirt and Napoli shorts.”

Reina could soon add a maroon item to his nightwear collection if he can repeat his penalty prowess in Napoli’s next game -- a trip to Roma for a top-of-the-table clash next Friday.

“It’s an immensely important game,” Reina said. “It’s still early, though, and there are lots of games to come, but this one’s going to be tough. The Giallorossi are only playing one game a week and they’ve won every game and conceded only one goal so far.”
