Branislav Ivanovic believes Willian's debut goal for Chelsea on Sunday has the Brazilian primed to make his mark at Stamford Bridge this season.
Willian marked his Premier League bow with a stunning strike to help the Blues down Norwich 3-1.
The 25-year-old is expected to come under significant pressure after his big money move from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer and Ivanovic is confident Willian will be key for Jose Mourinho's side.
"Willian showed he can improve and he can impress all the guys more, and we expect from him a lot," Ivanovic told FIFA.com. "His goal is very important for him for confidence and for motivation."
Ivanovic has also played down concerns over Samuel Eto'o's early form at Chelsea, with the Cameroonian failing to score in his first three appearances for the club.
"Eto'o is a guy who is still new in our team, in our squad, and we have tried to help him to settle as quickly as possible," he added. "Both guys add fantastic quality."
