Ajax forward Bojan Krkic has been ruled out for up to six weeks after suffering a hamstring tear.
Bojan, on a season-long loan from Barcelona, had to be substituted just five minutes into the 6-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie on Saturday.
He underwent an MRI scan on Tuesday morning and a statement on the club’s official website revealed he will be out for between four and six weeks.
On Sunday, Bojan had addressed the injury on his official Twitter account.
Time to accept it and work to be back the sooner. Unfortunely, this is also part of football.. Thanks a lot for your messages.— Bojan Krkic (@BoKrkic) September 29, 2013
Bojan will hope to be fit in time for the Champions League meeting with Barcelona at the Amsterdam Arena on November 26.
