Galatasaray are close to unveiling former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini as the Turkish giants’ new manager according to club legend Hakan Sukur.
Galatasaray have been without a manager since Fatih Terim was sacked after refusing to accept a contract extension with the club.
But news broke that the Istanbul club were in talks with the Mancini after the club took to Twitter following conversations between the former Inter boss and club officials.
“President Unal Aysal and chief executive Lutfi Aribogan have met with Roberto Mancini,” read the tweet.
And Sukur strengthened the rumours after admitting the only sticking point was the future of the club’s assistant coaches.
"I have a mutual friend with Mancini and I spoke him and Galatasaray and Mancini are in the final stages," the former striker is quoted as saying by Sporx.
"There is a difference only about the assistants, whether or not Umit [Davala] and Hasan San will remain. Mancini wants to bring his own assistants. I expect this issue to be resolved."
