Kevin-Prince and Jerome Boateng are set to become direct Bundesliga opponents for the first time in over four years when Schalke take on Bayern Munch on Saturday.

Since 2007, the half-brothers, who spent their formative years playing on a concrete football pitch in Berlin, have only ever met twice in professional competition.

In 2010, Kevin-Prince’s Ghana played Jerome’s Germany in the World Cup, while in the previous year, during Kevin-Prince’s loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, they were on the same pitch for some 13 minutes in Dortmund’s 2-0 victory over Jerome’s Hamburg.

However, following Kevin-Prince’s move from AC Milan to Schalke last month, the pair are set to meet once again at the Veltins Arena as the Royal Blues take on Bayern Munich.

“I will try not to floor him,” Jerome told Bild. “But if there is no other chance, I will do it. He will not run away from me.”

Kevin-Prince added: “On Saturday, for 90 minutes we will not be brothers. I have already told him, I would be disappointed if he did not attack me 100%. I will do it! It’s a great thing for us to play against each other on such a high level.”

The pair, who grew up in Berlin, both have aspirations to one day line up alongside each other for the same Hertha Berlin side.

“That is my dream. My biggest dream,” Kevin-Prince said, while Jerome added: “That would be class.”

Kevin-Prince and Schalke, who are currently ninth in the Bundesliga, will be attempting to bridge the six-point gap they trail second-placed Bayern Munich by on Saturday.
