Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has announced midfielder Andres Iniesta is set to be offered a new contract.
Spain international Iniesta has played his entire career at the Nou Camp with his current contract set to expire in 2015.
The World Cup winner has helped the club to a dominant both domestically and on the continent, crowned with three Champions League trophies.
And Rosell, speaking to local station TV3, said the 29-year-old should be rewarded for his faithful service, confirming the club hoped "to be able to announced Iniesta's renewal soon.
"Iniesta is one of the cornerstones. He should have his rightful place behind Messi."
