ESPN FC: Are Bayern more vulnerable?
Bayern Munich director of football Matthias Sammer has defended coach Pep Guardiola after the former Barca boss came under criticism for his early choice of tactics at the Allianz Arena.
Although Bayern have not yet lost this season, and claimed the UEFA Super Cup with last week's win over Chelsea, Guardiola has been accused of making unnecessary changes to a side which claimed the treble last season.

But Sammer believes Guardiola is on the right track to continue Bayern's success in the long term.
"I think some remarks about Pep have been incorrect because if you analysed last season in detail, it is an idealisation of the past to say that everything was perfect," Sammas told Kicker.
"The way we played was not sufficient for the future. [Guardiola was] chosen for strategic reasons. We must give him time."
