Sunderland have completed the loan signing of forward Fabio Borini from Liverpool.
The Italy international moves to Wearside on a season-long loan deal after struggling to secure first team opportunities at Anfield.
Costing £10.5 million when he arrived from Roma last summer, Brendan Rodgers had admitted on Sunday he was unsure about allowing Borini to leave the club despite leaving him out of the 18 to face Manchester United.
Indeed, Borini made just 20 appearances since moving back to the Premier League, including a 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Elsewhere, the Black Cats have also secured a permanent deal for Andrea Dossena. The Napoli left-back had been close to joining Torino recently but saw the deal collapse after he failed a medical.
