Liverpool are set to complete the signings of Victor Moses, Tiago Ilori and Mamadou Sakho on the final day of the transfer window.

All three were at Anfield to watch their new club beat Manchester United 1-0 and afterwards manager Brendan Rodgers said he is optimistic they will become Liverpool players on Monday.

Winger Moses is set to arrive on a season-long loan from Chelsea, with a £1 million fee, while Paris Saint-Germain defender Sakho will cost an initial £12 million and Sporting Lisbon defender Ilori a further £7 million.

Rodgers said: "We hope they can all be complete and we’ll get confirmation tomorrow [Monday]. We need that depth. If we can get those deals over the line it will help."

The Northern Irishman has already made five summer signings, bringing in Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Aly Cissokho, and believes he will face the right kind of selection dilemmas when he adds three more players.

"It is a nice problem to have," he added. "What we’ve brought in is competition."

Rodgers praised his team for their performance in defeating United as, after struggling to beat the top teams last season, they overcame the defending champions.

He added: "I thought the result was outstanding and defensively we were very good and Manchester United played well and our concentration was outstanding. These are the big games we wanted to be winning this year and we were drawing last year. To get three out of three I can only be happy with that."
