AC Milan are to make one final bid to sign Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow after having sold Kevin-Prince Boateng to Schalke.

- Paul: Honda or Kaka?

The Rossoneri have already reached an agreement with the Japan international, whose contract expires in January and can then move to the San Siro on a free transfer.

However, the Russian club have so far rejected Milan’s bids to bring the move forward.

But with Schalke confirming the signing of Boateng on a four-year deal on Friday, bringing in a new creative player before the transfer deadline has now become the Serie A side’s priority.

Honda is at the top of Milan’s list, while Kaka is also an option after revealing he wants to leave Real Madrid, and one is likely to arrive before Monday.

“Kaka is a very difficult deal and at the moment we’re negotiating with CSKA to try to get Honda straight away,” Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliano told Gazzetta dello Sport. “It’s more likely to be Honda than Kaka, and signing one excludes signing the other.”
