Mesut Ozil: I'm staying at Real Madrid
Mesut Ozil looks to have put an end to speculation he might join Manchester United or Arsenal this summer by saying he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid.

It had been suggested in both the Spanish and British press that Ozil was contemplating a move having been unsettled by the possibility of losing his first team place if and when Gareth Bale completes his world record transfer to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The speculation was heightened amid reports that Madrid had knocked back attempts by Ozil’s father and agent to improve his son’s annual salary from €5 million to €8 million a year, and by talk that the Germany international was unhappy after being substituted early in both Madrid’s opening two La Liga games.
However the playmaker, 24, told reporters at a commercial event in the Bernabeu club shop on Wednesday lunchtime that he was very happy at Madrid and not looking to move.
"I feel really good at Madrid," Ozil said. "I have a contract here until 2016. I feel very good here and get on really well with my team-mates. I want success here. There has been a lot written in the media, talk of some other options, but I have a contract and I am staying with Real Madrid."
Ozil denied he was struggling to fit into the new, more patient midfield style which has been introduced under incoming coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"I feel very good, I have the confidence of the coach," he said. "There is a series of objectives that we want to achieve, in which each one will have a role to play. That is one of the reasons why I want to stay. We are very happy, we have won our two games, we have taken six points. It is true that we need to play better, but there is a long way to go."
Asked about his goals for the 2013-14 campaign, the former Werder Bremen man said that a squad as deep and talented as Madrid’s must be looking to win significant silverware.
"When you play for a team as important as Real Madrid, you must win trophies," he said. "We are going to do everything we can to win. It is true this is a club with special players, and I am convinced we will win trophies."
