NAPLES, Italy – Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain is training separately from the rest of the squad after cutting his face on underwater rocks off the island of Capri.
Higuain, 25, needed numerous stitches following the accident on Monday, and Napoli's medical staff wants him to avoid physical contact with team-mates.
However, the Argentina international is expected to train normally later in the week and should be available for Saturday's match at Chievo Verona.
The accident happened a day after he had played well -- but not scored -- in the 3-0 win over Bologna that opened Napoli's Serie A season.
The striker was enjoying a day off, but spent the afternoon in a hospital after slipping while disembarking from a yacht onto nearby rocks.
