France and Australia will meet in an international for the first time since 2001 when they play a friendly in Paris later this year, the French Football Federation has said.
The match -- the fourth ever to be played between the nations -- will be played at the Parc des Princes in Paris on October 11, four days before France play their final World Cup qualifier at home to Finland.
The last game between them saw the countries draw 1-1 in a Melbourne friendly. France, a point behind Spain in World Cup qualifying Group I and face away games in Georgia and Belarus. Australia have already qualified for next year’s tournament in Brazil.
