Premier Showdown

April 17, 2014

Merrick Smith managed to hold off the challenge from Dale Johnson to claim victory in the last round, which meant the Rest of the World climbed back up into second place. But Tommy Smyth is now nine points in front with a maximum of just 12 left to play for.

Looking to try and claw another three points back for the ROTW this weekend is Nor Irwan Adam who comes from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

He tells Showdown: "Hi. I am 39 and I have been running a project development company for the past 10 years. I'm a fully fledged Manchester United supporter. We are down in the table this year but the good thing is, the only way is up after this season... p.s. please come back, Mr Ronaldo."

Game on!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on  ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.
