Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the Italian club until 2018.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the signing via Twitter, describing Hamsik as "a great player who honours the Napoli shirt".
The Slovakia international has scored 71 goals since moving to Naples in 2007 and was named Serie A Young Footballer of the Year after his first season with the Partenopei.
De Laurentiis wrote on Twitter: "It's a perfect marriage with Hamsik... He is a great man, a great professional and a great player who honours the Napoli jersey... It is a shirt he is happy and satisfied to honour. We have renewed his contract, extending it to 2018."
