Low names Germany squad
The Germany squad is dominated by Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich players ahead of the friendly against Paraguay next week.
Defenders Mats Hummels and Marcel Schmelzer are joined by midfielders Sven Bender, Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus in the Dortmund contingent. Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng are present from Bayern.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, coach Joachim Low said that he is going into the final season before the World Cup "with high hopes and full of anticipation".
Two wins with Sweden not picking up all three points in their tie against Ireland would see Germany through to the World Cup in Brazil.
Other notable names include Serie A strikers Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez, who will compete for a spot in Germany’s attack, while Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle and Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker are also included.
